SPOTLIGHT: Time Warner Telecom lowers loss in Q4

12.02.2008

Competitive carrier Time Warner Telecom reported a net income loss of $5.3 million for the fourth quarter of 2007, much improved from a loss of $24.8 million for the same quarter in 2006. The telco met earnings-per-share estimates of 4 cents per share, but despite 17% revenue growth, it came in slightly under revenue estimates, tallying sales of $279.5 million vs. analyst estimates for $282 million.

The company also said it would spend between $6 million and $7 million this year on a re-branding campaign, as it prepares for a naming rights agreement with Time Warner to expire this June. The telco began as a unit of the media giant, but has been independent for several years.
